The painting world, says A.Danto, is a pluralist universe, that gives value to the inner structure of the works. Therefore the artist of our contemporary age can number in his style abstract or figurative influences, because the old division has crumbled and remains only as a memory. Everybody is free to be everything in a single moment. There is no purity but alchemy. The realities of painting mix and get confused.
